Urban bias often shapes the social perceptions of what it means to be LGBT, further othering and erasing LGBT individuals within rural areas. Using photography, and text stitched onto stereo-typically rural clothing, this body of work aims to bring visibility to LGBT individuals within rural areas by highlighting their experience and drawing attention to statistics that illustrate the disparity between being LGBT in the city and being LGBT within a rural community.
